Asian Science Fiction Art Exhibition
The inaugural London Design Festival Asian Sci-Fi Art Exhibition successfully concluded on September 20.
Co-hosted by the London Design Festival and the official partner HeritageXeno, this exhibition, as one of the satellite events, showcased a diverse array of works combining Asian culture with cutting-edge technology, including digital art, interactive installations, 3D animation, AR augmented reality, holographic images, and more. It attracted numerous artists, universities, media, and enthusiasts of Asian culture from both domestic and international audiences.
The London Design Festival, held annually in September, is a highly regarded event in the field of arts and design, receiving strong support from the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan. This edition not only featured outstanding works by Pritzker Prize laureate Zaha Hadid but also garnered active participation from renowned galleries and companies such as V&A, Google, and Sony, presenting a diverse showcase of creativity and design. The Asian Sci-Fi Art Exhibition, with its distinctive Asian influence, invited eight artists from China and Korea.
They ingeniously fused traditional Chinese cultures, such as Miao embroidery, Yi script, Nuo masks, and ink painting, with the latest technology, propelling the brilliance of Chinese culture onto the world stage.
This satellite exhibition not only received official coverage from the London Design Festival but also garnered attention from international design platform Dezeen, Glasgow School of Art in the UK, and various other prestigious media outlets and art institutions worldwide, receiving enthusiastic acclaim.
